The Department started its journey from 2017 onwards on completion of the new Annex building constructed with funds received from MPLAD(27 Lacs) and UGC(16 lacs). We owe our gratitude to Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Prof. Sougata Roy for sanctioning funds for the new building.

The PG Board of Studies of Mathematics, headed by HOD, Dept of Mathematics, WBSU regularly provides guidance to the faculty for running the course successfully.The students of this Department are guided by eminent retired professors of ISI, Kolkata and other Universities for specialized topics along with the efficient faculty of our college.

The Department organized the International Webinar on “Biomathematical Modelling of Epidemics: Focus on COVID-19” during the pandemic in June 2020.As a mark of respect on Teacher’s day, a national Webinar was organized on ‘Algebraic Structures and its Application in Secure Communications’ on 5^th September, 2020.

It is noteworthy to state that four batches of students have completed their PG degree from here some of whom are successfully pursuing higher studies in reputed institutions. Some others are already placed in the job market.
