About ICC
Brahmananda Keshab Chandra College has an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) constituted under Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 and UGC Guidelines 2016.
According to THE "SEXUAL HARASSMENT OF WOMEN AT THE WORKPLACE (PREVENTION, PROHIBITION AND REDRESSAL)" ACT 2013, sexual harassment includes any one or more of the following unwelcome acts or behavior (whether directly or by implication) namely:
- sexual advances, requests for sexual favours, and verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature are made, either implicitly or explicitly, a ground for any decision relating to employment, academic performance, extracurricular activities, or entitlement to services or opportunities at the Organisation.
- sexual advances, verbal and non-verbal and/or physical conduct such as loaded comments, remarks or jokes, letters, phone calls or e-mails, gestures, exhibition of pornography, lurid stares, physical contact, stalking, sounds or display of a derogatory nature that have the purpose and/or effect of interfering with an individual's performance or of creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive environment.
- Deprecatory comments, conduct or any such behavior is based on the gender identity/sexual orientation of the person and/or when the classroom or other public forum of the College is used to denigrate/discriminate against a person or create a hostile environment on the basis of a person's gender identity/sexual orientation.
Primary Objectives of ICC:
- To develop a mechanism for the prevention and redressal of sexual harassment cases and other acts of gender based violence at the Institute..
- To foster healthy relationship with opposite gender.
- To equip students, faculty and staff with the knowledge of their legal rights and redressal of their grievances.
- To facilitate speedy delivery of justice, through organizing meetings at regular intervals.

Format of Complaint Letter
- Details of incident with dates, name of witness and documents , if any
- False complaints can invite penalties
- Complaint of sexual harassment should be filed within three months of the incident.
