Activities of Career Counselling and Placement Cell (January 2024)

A seminar on “Career Prospects” were held in the online mode from 7.45 pm in Google Meet platform on 2.1.24. About 72 students and 31 teachers of Brahmananda Keshab Chandra College attended the seminar.

Activities of Career Counselling and Placement Cell(January 2022- December 2022)

The Career Counselling and Placement Cell of BrahmanandaKeshab Chandra College had organized a Virtual Interactive Session with the semester 5 students on 5 th January 2022, at 7pm as a part of the Students's Week Celebration. Around 46 participants had attended the programme. The Career Counselling and Placement Cell arranged a Webinar on 22nd January 2022, with ICICI Academy for Skills' for both UG & PG students who have passed out 2020 onwards or earlier to build their career. Topic of the webinar: "Your First Step Towards a Bright Future". No of participants: Around 23

A virtual Interactive programme on "Soft Skill & Employability Skills" with Anwesha Academy, Learning & Development division of Aunwesha Knowledge Technologies Pvt ltd was held on 18 th February 2022 with all PG students and current sem 3 & 5 students. 62 participants had attended the webinar.

Brahmananda Keshab Chandra College had signed a MOU with Anwesha Academy, Learning & Development division of Anwesha Knowledge Pvt Ltd. on 15 th March 2022 for a Pre- Placement Training Course for the Semester VI undergraduate students, Semester II and IV postgraduate students and ex-students of the college. The Career Counselling and Placement cell arranged this training named "A Course on Soft Skills & Employability Skills" in collaboration with Anwesha Academy. The course duration was thirty hours which spanned from 20 th March 22 to 29 th May 22 and classes were mainly held in online mode. Total 44 students registered for the course.

On 22 nd & 23 rd April 2022 two days webinar were organized by the Career Counselling and Placement Cell with all the Arts & Science Departments of our college regarding "The Future Prospect" of semester 4 & 6 students. Teachers from different departments briefed nearly 30 participants each day.

On 30 th May a valedictory session was organised to distribute certificates to successful candidates for "A Course on Soft Skills and Employability Skills" organised by the Career Counselling and Placement Cell in collaboration with Aunwesha Academy. Principal and IQAC coordinator of our college and representatives from Aunwesha Academy spoke about the necessity of such courses. The students gave positive feedback about the course.

The Career Counselling and Placement Cell arranged a Webinar on 25 th June 2022 on "Career Prospect of a Medical Representative" & "Vocational Skills Training" with Carreograph & ICICI Academy respectively. Around 46 participants were in the webinar.

The Career Counselling & Placement Cell organized a webinar in association with Anudip Foundation on 19 th August 2022 at 4pm for all UG, PG, 6 th semester outgoing students & 2021 passed out students. The webinar was about Tryst with 21 st Century Skills and Technology: "New Age Learning Solutions". The speakers were Mr. Prasun Kumar & Ms. Debjani Ghosal. Around 25 students actively participated in the webinar.

The Career Counselling & Placement Cell intorduced A Certificate Course on "Communicative English & Workplace Readiness" (CCCE-01). This course was made compulsory for semester 1 students and optional for other students. A total of 102 students got themselves registered. The course was designed to be thirty hours spanning from 12 th November 2022 to 15 th January 2022. Mrs Ambika Barua and Mrs Saswati Chowdhury were the course coordinators. Two external experts Ms Abantika Barua and Mr Sayantan Ghosh conducted the course in a blended mode.

Prior to the commencement of the certificate course an Orientation Programme was organised by the Career Counselling and Placement Cell on ’11 TH November 2022 to share the objectives of the course amongst the students. 32 students attended this programme.

The Career Counselling & Placement Cell had arranged a Mock Interview for the students who were attending "A Certificate Course on Communicative English & Workplace Readiness" (CCCE-01) regularly on 16 th December 2022. This activity was an integral part of the course. The members of the cell and the faculty of English department were the mentors. 11 students turned up for the interview session.
