About the Department

The Department of Political Science is offering UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE COURSE in Political Science. The Political Science department was set up in the year 1963 offering the subject as a general course and Honours Course was introduced in this department in 1965. The primary objective of this department is to impart and offer easy skilful knowledge on politics. As state is the focal point of the subject we usually try to impart our knowledge around the term "state". It is from classroom that the basic knowledge of state, society, civil society and family all get it fundamental comprehension for conveying proper knowledge on society and state is our aim. And with this aim we try to build proper enlightened citizens whose footsteps will be followed by others. In addition, our teachers inculcate into the students about the various areas of political science like political thought and theory, Indian Government and politics, public administration, Comparative politics,   international relations, human rights and so on. Our department has also organized national, international and state level seminars, webinars to develop the knowledge of the students on various aspects of the disciplines. Our faculty members use innovative teaching methods like debates, group discussions to make teaching-learning more interesting. It is a student-centric department and just like a family. College students are like our children. All faculties help them not only with educational purposes but also students share their every problem without any hesitation to the faculties. Faculties help them for their best. For that reason, Students participation in all events of the department and college is immensely noticeable.

Many students of our department pursue higher studies and complete their post-graduation in political science. A number of students of our department are presently serving in various government and privet sector. Every student is connected with us. They sometimes share their success stories and sometimes failures. All faculties always try to encourage them in every crucial situation and motivate them how to overcome this situation and come forward.

Different faculties are specialized in different fields. They deliver their knowledge for the best and encourage students to attend regular classes.
