About the Department

The Department of Chemistry of B.K.C. College started its journey with teaching of Intermediate Science in 1956 and Undergraduate Course in 1963 under the University of Calcutta. From 2009, the College came under the newly founded "West Bengal State University". Right from the beginning the Department has been meticulous in maintaining high standards in terms of teaching and students' performance throughout. Large no of alumni well established in India and abroad in academic and industrial field reflects the tradition of excellence in Chemistry education.
